1. Overview

Campaign Ops (“Campaign Ops,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent fan-made guide website for Halo: Campaign Evolved. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you visit the website and use its device-local features.

Campaign Ops is not affiliated with Microsoft, Xbox, Halo Studios, Valve, or Steam. This policy applies only to Campaign Ops and not to services operated by those companies.

2. Information we handle

You can browse Campaign Ops without creating an account or directly providing your name, email address, payment information, or game account credentials.

Like most hosted websites, essential technical information may be processed automatically to deliver pages securely and reliably. This can include IP address, browser and device type, requested URL, timestamps, referring page, and basic diagnostic or security logs. Hosting providers may process this information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy practices.

3. Device-local progress storage

The homepage progress tracker stores your Skull and Terminal counts in your browser’s local storage under the keycampaign-ops-progress. This information remains on your device and is not intentionally transmitted to Campaign Ops. No account is required.

You can remove this information at any time by resetting the tracker or clearing site data in your browser settings. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, or switching devices may remove or make this progress unavailable.

4. Analytics, cookies, and advertising

With your permission, Campaign Ops uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand visits, page usage, navigation, approximate device characteristics, and interactions with the website. Microsoft Clarity may provide aggregated heatmaps and session-replay style diagnostics. We use this information to improve navigation, guide quality, and site performance.

Optional Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity scripts remain disabled until you select “Accept analytics” in the consent banner. Your choice is saved in local storage undercampaign-ops-analytics-consent. You can reopen the banner using “Cookie choices” in the site footer. We do not sell personal information and do not currently operate an advertising network or email subscription system.

Essential technologies may still be used by the hosting platform for security, authentication, load balancing, abuse prevention, and reliable delivery. For more information about optional analytics processing, review the privacy documentation published by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

5. External links and third-party services

Campaign Ops links to third-party websites, including the official Steam store and other reference sources. When you follow an external link, the destination may receive information normally sent by your browser and may use cookies or other technologies under its own privacy policy.

We do not control third-party websites. Review their policies before providing personal information or making a purchase.

6. Data retention and security

Device-local tracker data remains in your browser until you remove it or your browser clears it. Technical security and diagnostic logs, when generated by hosting infrastructure, are retained only as necessary for service operation, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and troubleshooting.

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect the website, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information. Because Campaign Ops does not require an account and the tracker remains on your device, we may hold little or no information that can reasonably be linked back to you.

You can control local storage through your browser, decline to follow external links, and contact us about a privacy request. We may need enough information to understand and lawfully respond to the request.

8. Children’s privacy

Campaign Ops is a general-audience game guide and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information may contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the website, applicable law, or our service providers change. The “Last updated” date will identify the current version. Material changes will be presented prominently when reasonably required.

10. Contact

Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through the project’s GitHub issue tracker. Do not include passwords, access tokens, or other sensitive personal information in a public issue.
